Paul Coates, director of the Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) in the National Institutes of Health (NIH), recently received the Conrad A. Elvehjem Award for Public Service in Nutrition from the American Society for Nutrition. The award recognizes distinguished service to the public through the science of nutrition. In addition to directing ODS, Dr. Coates serves as acting director of the NIH Office of Disease Prevention (ODP).
